@mention is an effective way to grab someone’s attention to perform an action. Microsoft has introduced new ways of using @mention in Outlook Tasks and email messages. The following instructions demonstrate how to use @mention in both Outlook Tasks and email messages:
Using @mention in Tasks
- Create a new task by selecting ‘New Task’ from the Outlook Ribbon or, pressing Ctrl + Shift +K simultaneously.
- In the body of the Task, enter the @ symbol and type the contact’s name you want to @mention.
- When you have selected the contact for the @mention, the task will turn into a Meeting Request automatically. The contact in the @mention is also placed in the To: field.
Using @mention in email
- Create a new email message by selecting “New Email’ from the outlook ribbon or, pressing Ctrl + +Shift + M simultaneously.
- In the body of the email, enter the @ symbol and type the contact’s name you want to @mention.
- When you have selected the contact for the @mention, the contact in the @mention is placed in the To: field.
